New standards for lighting selection! What is pupil lumen?
A way of thinking that takes into account the state of human pupils! What is the new lighting standard 'Pupil Lumen' already established in Europe and the United States?
Recent research has revealed that the conventional standard for brightness, "lux," is not directly related to human visual capability. Instead, a concept called "pupil lumen," which takes into account the state of a person's pupil, has begun to emerge as a new standard for lighting in places like Europe and the United States. The diameter of the human pupil varies between 2-8 mm; in bright environments, the pupil constricts to reduce the amount of light entering the eye, while in darker environments, the pupil dilates, allowing more light in. As a result, there can be a phenomenon where the perceived brightness is greater than the value indicated by a lux meter. Additionally, the calculation method involves applying a correction factor (S/P Ratio Correction Factor) to each lighting source. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
